So I discovered this shit at CVS 6 months ago and it changed my life re: doing my nails. For some reason I had never thought to look for this shit outside of a nail salon. From 6 months until 20 minutes ago I would have thought you were an idiot if you haven’t been using this aerosol miracle. The instructions say to hold 4 inches away from your nail and then lightly spray, but if you’re like me you put it right up to the nail and hold the spray there for 5 seconds and then my finger feels like it’s going to fall off because it is freezing cold, compressed air + chemicals, but HEY, my nails are dry! So fucking good!!! I was just reading the ingredients and smack dab in the middle of a bunch of chemical science jarbon was “MINK OIL”. Mink Oil. The oil of minks. From Wikipedia: Mink oil is made from the thick fatty layer minks have just under their skins. This fat is removed from the pelt when the mink is skinned and is then rendered into mink oil. Mink oil is a source of palmitoleic acid, which possesses physical properties similar to human sebum. Because of this, mink oil is used in several medical and cosmetic products. Mink oil is also used for treating/conditioning and preserving nearly all kinds of leather[1]. Similar to human sebum. Fuck everything in this life. I can’t wait until I’m reincarnated as a wealthy noblewoman in the year 4590 when everything is clean and everyone is beautiful and no one wears pants.
