Tonight I met one of my favorite living authors. Keret might believe that it’s the 16th, but whatever. He said I had a beautiful name and then when he asked me how to spell it (despite a post it note an assistant stuck to it so we wouldn’t have to go through that rigamarole), I had to stop halfway through and start again because I forgot how to spell my own name. I then said out loud, to one of my favorite living authors, “I just forgot how to spell my own name.”

I also got within two feet of BD Wong and spent the last five minutes of my walk from the subway thinking that, in all seriousness, we could end up being very good friends one day.
