Two weeks ago I finished watching the last episode of SVU available on Netflix. Although I know there’s a season currently running on television that will appear on Netflix within the next year or so, I am basically considering myself “finished” until then.
I started this endeavor December 10, 2008. Who knew with the words “I am having a marathon”, I would literally mean I would be watching SVU for over a year. A lot has changed since that first post. I stopped crying at every SVU episode somewhere around season 3. I’ve seen so much fake rape that I probably don’t even have real human emotions anymore. I still think Meloni is King Babes-A-Lot, a babe who has birthed every babe both before and after him though. You knew that.
Those words spawned Christopher Meloni Super Close-Ups. Posts I generally only made when I was stoned and couldn’t believe how tightly they tend to frame Meloni’s face. Posts that a lot of people seemed to find enjoyable. I got a lot of e-mails in regards to Meloni, and even had someone asking me for SVU-based advice. We all have a world of information at our fingertips, and someone recommended me to this person based off my blog. That is fun! And who can forget TheMattSmith’s beautiful photoshop work. That is even more fun. For me. To look at.
Suppose it took me about 440 days. There are 224 episodes in Seasons 1 - 10. This averages out to about half an episode a day for a year and three months.
I almost feel like I almost accomplished something. Shh, shh. I know I just watched a television show, but damn. Damn. I learned a little bit. That makes up for 2 of the millions of brain cells I lost while watching a television show. I literally dropped judicial knowledge in my class the other day. Information I learned from Richard Belzar.
If you’re wondering what I did when I finished the last episode of season 10, fear not. I will tell you. I immediately started episode 1, season 1 again.
